Green screen / Blue Screen / Chroma Key is getting a lot easier to do nowadays with the amazing technology that we have including the phones in our pockets. So although it’s a lot easier to do now we still have a few limitations and one of those is that we remove the shadow that was cast by the person or object on the green screen. In the video below I will show you how to easily add an interactive realistic shadow in only a few steps (listed below as well) to make your green screen creation really stand out (or not as the case may be – we want it to look natural).
Now, although this is done in Final Cut you can do this in Premier Pro, LumaFusion and probably pretty much any other NLE that can do keying for green screen (which is most of them now).
Steps
- Duplicate layer
- B&W filter
{move b&w sliders to left for silhouette} - Filipped efect
{select vertical / horizontal / both} - Skew
- Scale
- Gaussian Blur
- Opacity 75%
