🙋‍♂️Physical £85+travel (talk / practical) (2hours - with halftime break included)

Flash Talk

Introduction about me and samples of my work. Talk about the different flash models and modifiers I will then do a live demonstration, with a mannequin that I have and with the available projector; I can make it appear in real-time on the screen. This way I can do a practical demonstration where everyone can see instant results.

The second half will then allow people to practice on each other and use my equipment as well. If they wish to bring their camera and flash, they are more than welcome to and I can go around helping people or just help them with the setup on my camera.

Equipment Needed: Projector and Screen, 1 x power socket.
Interaction: Members are encouraged to bring their camera and speed-light.

iPhone and Flash Talk

The first part of this talk revolves around phone photography (specifically iPhones as that is what I use but it is also applicable to other makes as well). I go through features of the phone to make sure you get the best of using a phone for photography as the leaps and bounds in technology have made these devices a formidable camera for the modern photographer. Please note this is not a talk on how to take photographs but how to make the most of the tools you have.

The seconds part is all about flash photography; specifically, speed lights. It starts with an introduction about me and samples of my work. I talk about the different flash models and modifiers I will then do a live demonstration, with a mannequin that I have and with the available projector; I can make it appear in real-time on the screen. This way I can do a practical demonstration where everyone can see instant results.

Equipment Needed: Projector and Screen, 1 x power socket.

Judging - What does a judge look for?

Have you ever wondered what goes through a judges mind? Now I can’t speak for every judge as there are some pretty weird minds out there 😬 but I will run through my thought process when I judge your images and show you examples (good and bad) of what I mean using my photographs (so I don’t upset anyone).

Equipment Needed: Projector and Screen, 2 x power socket.

Judging for Camera Clubs and Photographic Societies

I have been professionally judging since 2016 so if you need a judge for your competition, whether that be in person or virtual, then just give me a call or email.

PLEASE NOTE: I am not doing any club judging in 2024

Mock Judging

There is nothing worse than critiquing your fellow member’s photograph for them never to speak to you again or even worse, not telling them the truth.

This session is designed as a mock judging night where I will score images and advise on what could be done to improve (if indeed there is anything) before it is entered into a real competition. Interaction is encouraged in which people can argue their points across about an image (which they never get to do with a real competition).

This can either be dpi or prints.

Equipment Needed: No extra equipment from me, just what is needed for your normal judging evening.

£40+travel (2hours max - with halftime break included)

Judging - DPI / PRINTS

Below is a full judging session of one of the methods used for virtual judging undertaken for Ludlow Photographic Club.
